Kayla Churchill Condemns “Hate Group” Label for Moms for Liberty

Fall River, MA – August 14, 2025 - Kayla Churchill, Republican State Committee Woman for the First Bristol and Plymouth District, is speaking out against the Southern Poverty Law Center’s designation of Moms for Liberty as a so-called “hate group,” calling the label “an outright smear against everyday parents advocating for their children.”

Churchill, a strong supporter of parental rights in education, said the attack on Moms for Liberty is part of a broader effort to silence those who challenge progressive policies in public schools. “This is not about hate. This is about love for our children, transparency in education, and protecting parental authority,” she said. “The radical left uses terms like ‘hate group’ to intimidate and discredit parents who dare to speak up.”

Moms for Liberty, active in multiple Massachusetts communities including Bristol County, has been vocal on issues such as opposing sexually explicit materials in school libraries, defending free speech at school committee meetings, and promoting curriculum transparency. Churchill said these positions are “commonsense priorities” shared by countless families across the state.

“The moms, dads, and grandparents involved in this movement are our neighbors, our friends, and members of our local communities,” Churchill added. “To paint them with a broad and ugly brush is an insult to the very people who are stepping up to protect the next generation.”

Churchill emphasized that the Massachusetts GOP supports open dialogue and the right of parents to participate fully in their children’s education. “We will not be bullied into silence,” she said. “Our children’s future is too important to be left in the hands of bureaucrats and political activists.”
